“Gayathri Thakoor is a writer and an educationist.
She started her writing career with The Economic Times, Mumbai, working on feature stories in the corporate world. After years of contributing to this business daily, she moved on to becoming a freelance correspondent for a suburban supplement for The Times of India, Mumbai. Here, she helped create the Egghead series of books for children, which are now selling as iPhone and iPad apps, the world over. Her blog ‘Affectionately…G’ at gthakoor.blogspot.com is about bringing back the beauty of letter and diary writing, to communication today. Currently, she is on a content development assignment with IIT Bombay.
As a teacher, she has encouraged children to think, read and write better through her creative writing and communication skills workshops, across Mumbai. Qualified with an academic record of a graduate degree in Economics, she also has an MBA degree in Finance and a Master’s degree in Education, to her credit.
Having frequent doses of ‘adrenaline rushes’ are a must for Gayathri Thakoor with her constant quest to try something new. If that includes a 15-day trek to Everest Base Camp in Nepal, navigating her team to win Lavasa Women’s Rally, or running the half marathon in Mumbai, every year, she makes sure there is some thrill to look forward to.”
